The new Jennettes pier

Hey gang. I just wanted to comment on how nice Jennettes Pier was. The wife and I were down for the Memorial Day Holiday and had the honor to check out the new pier. WOW. I was impressed with all the educational information posted in the gazebos along the pier and inside the tackle shop. More imprantly, I was pleased to see how its built with all the concrete..from the stabilizers/support pillars to the concrete on the pier floor. Every NC pier should be built like Jennettes.
I know the old pier was destroyed when Hurricane Isabel came through, but after seeing the new pier I can see it being there for hopefully a LOOOONG time. Im also looking forward to seeing the top floor of the shop open to what I hear is going to be a restuarant and a few classrooms. Unfortuneatly I didnt have my gear with me or I would have tossed a line in, but cant wait to return in August to do just that.
