Pains Bay Fire

The smoke was bad last night like fog. I talked to somebody that went through there a couple of days ago. It's burned about 12 miles along the road and stopped right at the houses at Stumpy Point, still smoldering a lot with flare ups. He also said they are building a new ferry dock for commercial traffic instead of using the bridge at Oregon Inlet to go to Hatteras Island. The ferry is going from there to Rodanthe and might start soon.
