Going to Bald Head island the first week of September. Have success catching blues and drum at cape fear on the east beach side (thanks for the advice about fresh bait!!!)and am going to try to catch a pompano on south beach with more advice from you guys(fish in the wash with small hooks with sand fleas or shrimp for bait). The house my sister got for us this year is on the point where the river runs into the ocean.I do not have a clue what to do.I know that sharks nurse there. do not have any desire to catch a shark....? I just want to catch a big something from the beach as our dad watches us from heaven.This will be the first trip to the beach without him. We lost him november 8,2010. Laid him to rest on the 11th. He volunteered for the navy and served on the USS Antietam CV-36 in the pacific.He lived a christian life for 90 years.The flag was presented to my brother who served in the Air Force in the 70's-80's. Mom is 89 and ready for the beach as I am.Thanks for letting me vent. Let's us catch some FISSSSSSSH!!!
