Fishing report

I spent the last couple of days fishing on the Outer Banks pier in Nags Head. The wind was howling so I kept the Kingfisher on the trailer. Thursday it came from the ENE at 15-20 mph and the water was dirty. The Northern Kingfish (sea mullet, round heads) were in there thick and biting! Some folks had coolers full. The bait of choice was bloodworm and gold hooks with gold spinners were outfishing plain hook rigs. I caught 10 nice ones in a couple hours. Friday was a different story. The wind was still blowing 15 but was now coming from the south. The water was clear and the bite slowed down. Fish were still being caught but not in the numbers of the previous day. It was an awesome day none the less. Other fish I saw landed on both days included puffers (blow toads), very small flounder, skates, and dogfish. The water keeps getting warmer and fishing keeps getting better.
