Doubt even high gas will keep em away. Gas over $3.00 didn't slow up the "visitors" last year. Still lots of "old" money out there. Even worse, multiple families will be overbooking cottages even more. More noise, mess, and less consideration toward others has become the norm.
Even the fish are abandoning the Outer Banks.
Gone are the days when at 1000 hrs. you could look in either direction on the beach and see only 2 - 3 families.
Sad to say, but....EVERYTHING CHANGES AND NOTHING FOR THE BETTER
