As it has turned out, a few other people found out about the ones in need and bought stuff. Now we have enough to help another kid or two out. We have a contact in the local social services office. So we will give the things to her to give out as she sees fit.
The one family, the wife got layed off about a year ago. Her husband, the bread winner just passed away. With 3 kids she is having a hard time. The one lttle boy was asking for training wheels for an old worn out bike so he could ride. The frame was rusted almost in half. He should be in for a surprize Christmas morning. Times are really tight for a whole bunch of people. I'm really not a Holy roller so to speak, not even close at times, but as I've gotten older, I view things differently. My preacher calls me "a work in progress." I now know that there is a grey area and not just black and white. I now understand the saying that "youth is wasted on the young". Hospitals, nursing homes, soup kitchens and homeless shelters are great places to share your time. No money needed.
