A two hook bottom fishing rig will get you started. It's what just about everybody uses. You can buy them at the tackle shops and you'll have to get sinkers and snelled hooks to go with them , or you can tie your own.

Another option would be a fish finder rig for bigger fish.

There is an article on my blog about spot fishing that explains how to tie your own bottom fishing rigs , if your interested the article is linked below. The fish finder is explained in the post " The Red Drum : part 2 ".

I need to do a better write up of tying your own bottom rig with a few pictures , but I haven't gotten around to it. I may have it done before you go.
