Thanks to all for the info. I have found some very informative books at the KDH library. Some info is specific to this area but a lot is just common info for fly fishing salt water. I think I'll give it a try this spring if I can find a deal on equipment. I tend to think that some of the shallow water of the sound offers better opportunities for fly fishing that spinning. Not familiar with the northern beaches at all but will look into them as well. If anyone runs upon a deal on a rod and reel, let me know.
