Daiwa BG60 vs. Daiwa Emcast 5000

Just finished a detailed cleaning of the reels I used last week. I owned an Emcast before this trip and had purchased a new one for my father-in-law. Following advice from this board(king), I had also purchased a BG60. These reels were all purchased in pursuit of decent reels on a budget. All were fished more or less equally last week. All were rinsed with fresh water at the end of the day and sprayed with Reel Magic. All performed fine.
The difference was found during cleaning. I cleaned the Emcast reels first. I used brake cleaner to remove all the black grime and gunk. There was a lot of it. Then sprayed everything down with WD40 and greased what needed greasing. When I disassembled the BG60 I was amazed to find that it was nice and clean. The grease was still mostly white. I gave it the same cleaning treatment, but feel like I could have put it back together without cleaning and it would have been good to go.
Like I said, all reels seemed to perform similarly. If anything, I like the rubber handle on the Emcast better than the wood handle on the BG60. That isn't a big deal, though. None of these reels have seen extensive use, but based on what I saw today I'm willing to bet the BG60 will serve me longer than the Emcasts. The extra $20 seems well spent.
Just thought I'd share for anyone else looking at spinning reels in the same price range. I never thought I'd say this, but I may start checking out some conventional outfits. I want to add a decent heaver to my arsenal and it seems that a lot of folks who have been at if for a while go this route. I just hope there is a small learning curve.
