Kev - Good Luck brother! You should be aware there are birds, but there has been nothing in the surf that I am aware of - I'm up in Corolla and watch the surf every day. When the commercial guys were slaying them a few weeks ago the bird activity was incredible, literally thousands of them. Unfortunatley, they were never closer 1/4 mile and most often at least a mile out. If you are bringing the boat, you are in for some fun. As King said, they were off KDH the last few days and the charter fleets from OI and Rudee Inlet where both converged off Corolla early in the week - hundreds of boats a couple miles out. So either I hope your a long cast champion or you bring the boat and hope for calm water, right know the surf is 6-8 and there were no boats out today. I don't mean to ruin your spirits, just my 2 cents. Check out the other forums, everyone is saying the same thing. Hope this helps.
