Hey, no apologies... Certainly no harm in any of your posts. You ask questions and someone will try and answer.

Re: striper catches. You just have to watch the boards posts. Several contributors incl/ the webmaster are locals and have the real scoop ( as distinct from rod and tackle and bait stores which are there to sell their stuff). Couple of locals posted fishin info in the last 2 days.

Re: touron status. Residence state has no bearing really. You can be a Outer Banks local, a caring visitor, or a touron!! Do you respect others and their property?? Clean up after your dog/disallow your children from urinating on the beach dunes/not use fireworks in areas where they cause danger to others and property/not have family swim in fishing lines when theres 1000's of ft of open ocean around fishermen/not surf into fishermans lines/not litter the beach/not fish irresponsibly/not jog in the street when there are paved walks alongside the road/not ride bikes 2-4 abreast in the road/not speed in residential areas/not park on roads so as to cause hazardous conditions/etc.,etc.,etc.,/not leave the Outer Banks worse than you found it?? If you can answer YES to all of these, you're a caring visitor - NOT a touron. (Thanks for givin me my semi-annual chance to vent)!!

But can you catch fish?? Someone, as you put it, "near 50", should have some good stories:):)
