Keeping bait alive

Looking for a way to keep mullet minows alive. I have tried several different small, store bought, bait buckets, but the bait does not live very long. Looking to build something bigger like out of a round sports cooler perhaps. Does anyone have an idea that is working for them? Thanks in advance for the imput.
