barracuda or gar?

Was wading in at the sound end of the inlet bridge, large schools of long fish were swimming around me but wouldn't bite. walked out and there was a dead one on the shore, long snout with lots of sharp teeth, mostly eaten so couldn't tell coloring. In the water they looked green and blue. They were crashing the water in the shallows after something. Anyone know what it was for sure?
