Good week for Blues!

We did great trolling in the slew just outside of the surf on Monday, June 5th between Jeanette's and Outer Banks Fishing Piers. Our boat caught about 12 bluefish and 1 spanish over about three hours. Would have caught more, but we turned the engine off anytime someone hooked up so we could actually feel some of the fight rather than just the water resistance. I appreciate the advice on the rig setups, they worked great! We also bottom fished for about an hour around the oregon inlet bridge and caught a few sea mullet and undersized flounder. All in all it was a good day on the water and no guide was needed.

The small blues seemed to be all over the place this week. Saw a few guys out there in kayaks snatching them just outside the surf on Tuesday one after the other.

I'd like to try catching some Amberjack next year as I heard July was a good month for them. Any advice on where and how to catch them is appreciated. Thanks everyone.
