yes,very effective,however,i hope you have a boat ,kayak,or canoe.what you need to do is fish the sound.kitty hawk bay,out of dock street,is a good spot.fish the deeper grass beds with a popping cork and alight jig with a gulp shrimp.just drift and drag.f you don't have a boat,try the prop slew at the o.i fishing center.hope this helps
