Fishing Rigs

Can somebody give me some tips on making a mono fishing rigs for pan fish such as spots, croaker, and sea mullet. I've know how to make the rig, but I'm not catching anything. I feel like I'm doing something wrong when I make my own rigs. Tips like how long the drooper loop should be and how far apart would be helpfull and what colar beeds should I put on the loops if any on the loops with the hook. Also how close should the bottom dropper loop be to the weight. Also are circle hooks better for pan fish like they are for drum? Any input would be appreciated. If I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, I guess I'll have to go backe to buying the bottom rigs from Walmart.lol. I rather not do that though. I like making my own rigs. It just seem like I'm catching less fish when I make my own rigs.
