Be sure to try a little close to shore botom fishing while there. There is some good fishing for puppy drum, sea mullet, spot, croaker, and bluefish that you can catch on bottom rigs baited with shrimp, squid, blood worms, or cut bait.
If you don't see any horses on the beach, try the village of Carova. Go in by the fire station and ride slowly up and down that road. You'll surely see some there. Stay on the couple of main roads that go north and south. There is a lot of restricted areas running east and west. The Corolla Wild Horse fund sends a lot of people up there to watch over them so make sure you know the rules. Visit their website to get a lot of good info. Have a great trip.
