I'd fish the surf until Saturday, high tide would probably be better but you might have to fish low tide. Try way out and try up close in or near the drop off with some small hooks and small pieces of bait too. If the bait is getting chewed on or is disappearing that could be a good sign you might catch something.

Saturday I'd try the little bridge on the causeway, the end of Avalon Pier or Outer Banks Pier if that pier is open. Pay attention to what's working if other people are catching fish like kind of bait and hook size. Just my 2 cents.
