Fishing this week

I went out to Ockracoke last Friday and caught a couple of those puppy drum everyone has been talking about, but I am starting to get tired of the drive from Nags Head. Does anyone have any idea how much longer till they make their apperance here around Oregon Inlet? Has anyone caught anything in OI recently? Also being from Texas I have never caught a shark and would like to catch just for for bragging rights. Any suggestions on where to go and what bait to use for that? Thanks in advance!
