It's hard to say exactly when, fall is usually the best months. The finger mullet run in the beginning of September was in my opinion the best of the fishing last fall and I think it was like that everywhere. No hurricanes last year and something you have to consider during September, hopefully the hurricanes will have trouble forming again this year. If the ocean is rough and grassy it's going to be hard to fish in the surf, you might be able to on a pier. I have a good feeling about September this year. The big crowd is from when school lets out for the summer until school starts again if you want to avoid it.
