artificial lures in the surf

Thanks for all of the advice from everyone. Terry/pompano. and someone (thanks,about " Reading the Beach ") My new question,and I have might have ask this one before, what are the artificial lures that I might try from the beach. A friend of mine and his wife caught trout with rattle traps with light gear(6' rod and 6 pound line ) I'am trying to get my brother-in-law intrested in it. I take a light rod and a reel loaded with spider line( 2lb dm/16lb test ) The gear that I will take this time is as suggested,are two 11'rods with 16' line and the above,and a cast net for fresh mullets
