Re: northern beaches.

Early on cottages had NO phones or TV's. Lots of candles tho as outages were pretty frequent. Evenings were board games w/ the family, and star gazing after that.

The small horse herds would come under cottages in the afternoons to get out of the sun and take their siestas.

2x a week the produce truck came down the street.

Winks in Duck was the closest gas pump.

The Whalehead Club was rustic and pretty much ignored.

No Corolla Light development, no hotels, no golf courses.
Just the Outer Banks as it was meant to be.

But its all changed now by the $$.

Sad.

Our kids remember what it was, but their children will never have the chance at those memories.

Yes, those were the days...
