We made a 4 day trip down over the weekend. Weather was amazing for October and it was a much needed trip. Friday arrived in Buxton about 1000 and after a couple of needed store stops, we were on the beach fishing behind the hotels. Fished the incoming and little action with small bottom feeders. Saturday up early and was on the beach in the R45 area. The NCBBA tournament was happening and 30+ fish had been measured and released here during the night. Saw several nice slot drum caught but we blanked. 5oz would not hold and I cant fish with heavier lead. Heard that 8oz was not holding at he Point. Back to the hotel at 1530 and fished at the hotel till dark. Birds were working in the Jetty area and coming up the beach. Caught 22 baby Blues. It was a blast just nothing measurable. Sunday AM back in from of the hotels at sun-up but previous day action was gone. Left and headed to the Sound to wade fish. Caught several out of season Flounder and the Wife caught some small pig fish and lost a few Flounder. Fished yesterday at R43 and weather was amazing. Caught small Blues on metal and wife had a few puffers. Hated to leave and hoping this is not the last trip of the year. Tightlines.
