Thoughts on yellow jackets in ground:
Never seen fire method completely eradicate, + too dangerous.
As for vac them up. Then what to do w/ those in vac?
Think best is insecticide powder in and around hole.
Was just mentioning the spray foam as another method. Haven't done, so not endorsing.
Using gasoline DIY reminds of story. At wife's house (before we were married) her father having trouble lighting charcoal grill. Had just a few charcoal pieces burning. Put gasoline in Pepsi bottle to throw into grill. Warned him NO but as this Capt was young, her dad ignored multiple warnings. Stood 10 ft. away and threw gas into grill. In an instant fire traveled backwards up the stream and exploded bottle in his hand.
North Coast gas today = $3.63.
Way Back Story. Circa 1961 on the North Coast, at a "Martin" station (grades were by colors w/ Purple = high test) regular was 26.8 cents per gallon, pumped by attendant + got oil checked, + free dishware, a hand puppet, a piece of candy, and windshield washed.
