Weekend Weather

Posted By: Debbie Martin

The weekend weather for the Outer Banks does not look so good thanks to hurricane Bill. Bill has been moving northwest (well north of the Leeward Islands, Virgin Island, Puerto Rico) during the past 24-36 hours and will continue to press northwest during all of Friday.

That direction will then soon shift to a more north-northwest direction as it splits the goal posts between the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Bermuda during the morning hours of Saturday.

This is actually my favorite time to fish off the piers but I don't recommend it unless your in a rain suit and ready to take on the strong pounding waves lapping up on the pier as well as the strong gusty winds.

I love to bottom fish at this time for I have been able to catch some nice size fish of all varieties.

Happy weekend all. I am off to hold a tight line and a strong footage.

If your planning on swimming this weekend, a word of advice is DON'T!!!!! Strong undertow and currents. There has been another drowning reported down at Ocracoke.

PEACE, Debbie
