Sunday Rodanthe Report

0530 - 0930 hrs. Surf. ENE 4-7. Beautiful morning. 3 sandbars. Drag south. #4 rollin. Surfers at 3rd bar w/ 12 ft. waves. By 0800 hrs. Dirty waves bars #1 and 2. Shrimp and squid. Nada.

1 other fisherman out 0600 - 0700 hrs. Nada.

As wrapping up at 0930 hrs, girls with surfboards go in 20 ft. From this Capt’s line. Directly in it as reeling in. Some things never change. Beach wide open 500 ft in either direction.

Water comes 15 ft. from house at high tide. Beach eroded badly. Only 1 walker as beach thin and water goin under houses to north and south. Also rebuilt 15 ft. dune at street end posted “stay off dune”. Beach access tough.

Rip tides.
