1st snow > 1" this season. Temps in high 20's.
Storm on North Coast over nite so far = 10". 20-30 winds began drifting round 0300 hrs., while additional snow to continue thru 1200 hrs. After that lake effect thru 1200 hrs. tomorrow. Big temp drop to begin mid week and continue thru weekend when more snow due.
Good thing today holiday as all roads incl. interstates near impassable. Will be a nightmare for crew working in ER to get there this AM.
Here on homestead snow crews opened main road around 0100 hrs. Vehicles of no use as plows have piled snow in front of driveways = 2 ft.
Heavy snow (weight) probably won't be cleared from drives and sidewalks till late day. Crews will earn their money from monthly HOA fee = $230.
This Capt stocked up on groceries, and filled up yesterday at 0600 hrs. Gas = $3.05. Prediction here = $4.00 and up this summer. If high prices do occur as predicted trip down to HI will be bout $135.
Store brand hot dog, hamburger buns that were $1.09 now $1.49. Prices continue to rise across the board. Saw steaks = 7" long, 5/8" thick = $21.
Have at least 3 months frozen food on hand.
You guys all be safe and smart in dealing next few days.
