Just some facts/observations from this Capt who in addition to an illustrious:):) Army, Navy and DoD career, attended law school, was thrown out of the seminary, had stint in Med. school, and has 1 ER Dr. and 2 ER nurses in family.
Yes Omicron here and spreading quick. No stopping it. We'll all get it. Question is how bad. 2 shots + booster = best chance will be no symptoms, mild or not life threatening.
Started in Africa and already there it seems to be petering out.
NE hospital ER's are becoming overloaded by those "just" wanting tests. While those that exhibit serious symptoms are admitted, expect many/most ER's to soon redirect those who "just" want tests to go to separate testing centers to free up ER's for what they're there for ... saving lives and limbs.
As for the "feel good" tests. If you get a positive what do you do? You go to hospital if you are having difficulty breathing, otherwise go home and treat it like flu. Hospital will not take those w/ lesser symptoms than breathing. They have no time or room to treat someone the same way one would at home.
Ever think about those working in ER daily surrounded by COVID? If you swab their noses they test positive every day.
Expect 2nd boosters w/i 6 months of 1st.
Oh, about masks. Cloth ones worthless. Virus passes in/out w/ no problem. All others helpful but not 100% answer. If not tight and worn properly, they allow the virus in. And...you most likely never heard...the virus can also enter thru the eyes.
And in case you didn't know...COVID19 attaches in lungs. Omnicron in nasal passages,
