No surprise. 2700 page document. Details trickling out. Dems want quick passage...no wonder. Remember "just sign it and you can read it later"?
For consideration....On Interstate and is accident that blocks all lanes in one direction. Traffic backs up as far as last off ramp passed. 80+ degrees. AC on in cars. 3-4 hours goes by. Gasoline cars run out of gas. Electrics drain battery to 0. While AA club may bring gas, who is going to bring new batteries?
Just like most "progressive" pushes...conversion to electric vehicles short sighted from many angles.
Now new scare = Gulf Stream may dissolve. Words throughout articles = may, could, might, no evidence yet, global warming, no definitive studies. But...its headline news.
Will be those who jump to Snopes and Wikipedia for "the" answers. This Capt does not care what a couple in a CA basement say is truth (Snopes) or what Wikipedia says.(Co-founder of that just stated last week that it is now a propaganda tool.)
US contributes 2% of worlds carbon emissions. China and India both rising economies will continue to create the most of the other 98%. US should cut its emissions to point of severely damaging economy and defensive posture?? Promises to reduce pollution by all signatory countries are "non-binding". But not to worry....all other countries will see the good the US has done and follow suit. Believe that?? Have a bridge to sell you.
Could it be that statements from right leaning = "progressives" use COVID as distraction from truth are correct?
North Coast continues w/ heat and widely scattered brief showers. Gas $2.99. Corn as high as $1 an ear. Mask mandates for public schools already in place w/ no science to back it up. In fact science says masks for kids does more damage than w/ em.
