Fresh caught spot is my bait of choice. Not always able to catch mullet with the cast net in the surf as they're usually in the slough and too far out. Sometimes I go down to Corolla light and and you can catch them in and around the around the docks. Not always there so I'll hit up the tackle shops. Up in Corolla the bait isn't always the freshest, So I've been known to travel down south to pick some up.
