The Seafood Restaurant

Something I hadn't seen before, seafood restaurant I went to the other night had an old bubble gum machine in their lobby set up with coins.

The inside front had the coins of what you could win, a row of old US coins like old nickels, mercury dimes, wheat pennies and steel cents.

And another row below that had old foreign coins and was inside in plastic toy capsules. You put 2 quarters on the wheel and gave it a turn.

I gave it a whirl and got a 1946 wheat penny with no wear on the wheat. I was happy with it had been in somebody's collection a very long time.

Anyway thought I'd mention would make a good gimmick at the beach use some with some rust and patina in the display so they look like are locals.

The restaurant was great, portions were twice as big and cheaper than beach. Not greasy waitress said they had a new owner using high quality oil.

If passing by Statesville, NC it's off I40 but will have to go through a roundabout and intersection that will make a hairball in your GPS device.
