Surf: Trout has had very strong reports with multiple quality fish being reported and several citations being caught off Nags Head, KDH, and Kitty Hawk Beaches throughout the week with very good reports early morning today. Puppy drum has been good with increasing reports each week but hasn’t seen the same density and success as trout in recent weeks. To great surprise, many trout and drum fisherman have hooked into oversized stripers with grubs and artificial lures. Schools of stripers have also been reported under the lights of the piers at night.
Sea Mullet and Blow Toads are continuing to show on Northern Beaches with better reports over previous week with the bait of choice being Bloodworms and Shrimp.
Sound: the temperatures in the sound have increased nicely over the last week with decent catches of drum and trout at little bridge, wading near lighthouse and inlet and from boat. Very large sizes of schools are being seen in Ocracoke and Frisco area. With temperatures continuing to climb, expect things to continue to improve for drum in the sound.
