I own a desiel and knock on wood I have yet to get stuck.
Let the air down to between 25 and 30 psi. Keep your speed up close to the speed limit when you can, and if the sand is like sugar turn around and go somewhere else. Had to put it low to get out ramp 27 a couple of times, but if you keep your momentum up you'll be ok.
