Spring Trip

Sorry for the late story, but because of the Island being closed during the time I had a place rented for my annual Spring Fishing Trip; I ended up heading down the week of Memorial Day with the Family plus daughters boyfriend, his mom & sister and niece. Weather was off an on with some rain and wind but for the most part was a really enjoyable week. We stayed about 1/4 up the beach from where the old Frisco Pier was. We arrived on the Sunday before Memorial Day and the drive up beaches were absolutely packed! Fished where we could, but at low tide I waded out to the 2nd sand bar and threw out a mullet head and ended up clearing the beach when I brought in a nice size sand shark. Was just shy of 7' and no idea how much it weighted, but no one went back in the water!! :) Later that week I caught my biggest Red Drum to date about 9:30pm. 47" and had a hand held scale and it was in the 45-50lb range. Fishing was off an on all week with some nice size mullet, spot, the occasional puffer and blues depending on the day and water. Heading back down middle of July with my family and the other families we've been going with for 15+ years. Glad to see some fishing reports out there!
