Personally I wouldn't have cared if homeowners could have come to the beach usually they are more respectful of the place than renters.
And their property rights are no different than anybody else's. There's no state travel ban in North Carolina so far or in some others.
Who wants to stay in a plague ridden big city with no supplies when they are fortunate enough to own another house they can escape to.
I moved to be in a better place for natural disasters or the apocalypse, the beach was not but I would say would be better than darker.
I was told by somebody recently canned goods and toilet paper are "still" being wiped out at the beach by "locals" who are hoarding it.
I remember it was not a lot of choice in older days for groceries and there was no hospital, you had to figure it out and do for yourself.
There is going to be a lot of anger when the gates open guessing trash all over the place for sure and some matches lit by business owners.
