Kind of a newbie

I have been visiting OBX for a few years now, and each time I like to improve my fishing possibilities. I am still very new at saltwater fishing. I am looking forward to a little bit of surf fishing this next time. I understand live bait is best, but do I need to catch my own ( I do have a cast net), or is there a place to buy fish for bait?
