Not again....

Croaker used to be regular catch on HI. Sure not the case in Salvo last summer. Don't think caught more than 2 in 3 weeks.

This Capt blames the trawlers.

Nothing but few sharks, skates and blues. Was in top 5 worst catchin in 39 years.

Week in Rodanthe = 0. Nothing...and that was fishin sunup and sundown daily. Lots of charters circlin daily close to shore but they also were stiffed.

Here on North Coast bout all remaining snow piles gone. Streams startin to clear. Mornings continue in 30's.

Deer already removed Mrs. Capt's hyacinths. Annual thing.

Attended Fishin Flea Market in Oberlin OH last week w/ buddy and son. 50 in line in light rain before doors opened 1st day. Larger hall but disappointing. "Very" little new gear. Used stuff predominate. Prices nearly retail. Had to laugh at some stuff like "used" leaders. Used freshwater rods selling by the bundle. Lures = new and used out the wazoo. Saltwater gear virtually non-existent. Were in and out in an hour.

Lookin for better luck surf and sound in 65 days - 2 weeks Salvo, 1 week Rodanthe. Main goal will be havin youngest 2 grandkids finally catch in surf, and do some earnest crabbin. They've never caught, and eaten their catch.
