Good question. I like Avalon but I think NG and OB are probably equally good. If you call Avalon about what is biting, they will give you a truthful answer. If it is slow, they will tell you. I generally do not fish south of OI, so I don't know about those piers. They are however very popular. With clear water you can expect blues and trout, dingy water means botton fish. The guys out on the end will be looking for cobia. Good luck.
