Got to the house around 11 pm last night. Took me a while to find some fresh bait on this end of the island. Finally got a line in the water at 10:30. Fished all day with BW’s & some old mullet. (Best I could find). Sea mullets was the catch of the day along with 2 keeper trout. Kept some of the bigger sea mullet for dinner and the rest went to the bait cooler or back to get bigger. Guy next to me got a slot drum and a few small black drum. Guy on the other side of me cailught a small ray that promptly put its barb right into the guys hand. He went down to the carova fire station where they told him to put his hand in the hottest water he could stand for as long as he could. He said that the pain went all the way up to his shoulder. His wife later gave him some whisky for the pain and he seemed to be doing better by the end of the day. Wind was a factor most of the day then started to lay down around the end of the day which was high tide. That’s when the bite turned in. Tomorrow is wind from the NE. I’ll let ya know how I do.
