Wishin all those who earned their retirement + those who still toil...a nice day.
Just re-assembled grill after the "mouse wars". Apparently was just the incorrigible one which was finally put to rest 10 days ago. Opposite of the 1 turtle w/ straw up its nose. This one was smart. In both cases (too smart and too dumb) an end to their gene pool called for.
Got shutter repair done this week. Bout only thing spookin this Capt these days is getting on and off ladder at roofline. Looks like roofers (who took 33 days to provide a satisfactory tear off and re-roof) had the last laugh. Caps of 3 of 4 shutter fasteners were sheared off leaving shutter in place but waiting for wind to finish the job. Big hand smear on trim next to shutter = the evidence of tampering.
Crew busy today w/ work and/or in-laws. Labor Day clambake will be here at the homestead next Sun. Clams and celery are in short supply...1st time for that.
Havin some bloody ribs for 2 of us today. Not sure why so bloody. Maybe one of you "farmers":):) can weigh in on that.
W/ tree lawn sod removed, and ground leveled and sod returned, last of mandatory fall jobs complete.
On next to painting guest bedroom. Currently still has original builders color...after 14 years. Purchased paint after Mrs. Capt picked out color. Next step = removal of 1300 books (in bins) before furniture can also be removed.
Was figurin bad winter on North Coast based on the mouse nests, lack of rain all summer, and seein only 1 Japanese beetle. Thanks for the confirmation.
Best o luck at beach. Reports sound very favorable now. Hopefully Atlantic won't stir up too bad.
Safe trip and keep us posted.
