7/13 update - Salvo Hole Monster

Left Pa 1:15am, huge breakfast at the Border Station and arrived on island 10:00am. Friend staying mile post 1.5 so stopped in for a cold one and wet some lines. Angry ocean and low tide so no action. Tide down so waded our past bar and threw Avet 5.8 Rig with 60lb braid, 100lb Fluoro with 8/0 circle and hunk of Mullet. Only took him 15 minutes to find me! 12’ Rod bent in half and I couldn’t stop him. About spooled me and cut thumb in half when snapped line. Bought that rig so this wouldn’t happen, but it did!! Best think about it is that I have a legit witness!! Guess I’ll have to go and get a bigger set up! Hard NE wind, wish it was October; would be perfect. High tide in Buxton 8:30 pm will try here, but very rough. Just so glad to be back.
