shrimp regs?

Do any of you have a good grip on recreational take of shrimp? I noticed the NC rec. coastal regs only specify that there is no minimum size for Closed Shrimping Area or Open Shrimping Area. (maybe that's why they are called 'shrimps'. I tried a web search to figure out where the closed area(s) is located. Could only find areas designated as Prohibited Territory for harvesting shellfish.
Does this stuff only pertain to commercial outfits, and thus nothing for the recreational angler to have to deal with? Or should I just concentrate on blue crabs? Whatever, I'll be down in about 5 days and have a good time doing something, hopefully in compliance with the law.
