My dear Dan, Cape Point is the easternmost part of Hatteras. When fishing is hot like it is right now for BIG Drum you see fisherman in their waiters waste deep in water fishing this point. It is a awesome point for bait fish which lure the big fish there. It is the HOTTEST surf fishing spot on the Outer Banks. Some of us refer to it as the sand spit of Cape Hatteras. The warm waters flow freely at this point when the SSW winds are blowing. Large Drum have been caught at this point. The waters are always churning at this point and this as well as the hottest surf fishing point is one gorgeous site to see. I think you maybe able to google this and look at photo's of Cape Point during heavy fishing season. Hope your visit with us soon. Until then, I am off to hold a tight line. Debbie
