Memorial Day Week

My wife, Her side of the Family and I will be coming down for the Week of Memorila Day!!!! Several of us like to fish and i am familiar with Surf Fishing.

We will be staying just north of Hatteras Village. The home we have rented is On the sound, but only 300' from the Ocean as well. What is going to be my best bet for Fishing ? Surf or Sound ?

There is not boat so everything will be Done from shore or surf!! I have been down once before and fished the Rodanthe Pier. Caught some nice Blues and some Croaker. But that was in mid April!!
