Salting really isn't that hard. Once you try salted shrimp, don't think you'll go back to fresh. Just stays on the hook longer. Plus not that much smell on the hands like fresh shrimp. I've kept salted in bags unrefrigerated for a few weeks with no problem.
Bait is tougher, especially if the small bait stealers are around.
As posted earlier, taking 2 1/2 lbs. down to Fla. in a month. What I don't use will still be good for our trip to the Outer Banks in May.
