The Gulp baits are made from a special plastic designed to absorb and hold the liquid, the Gulp plastic turns into hard plastic when it dries out.

The regular worms will work if there is a lot of spot in the water and they are hungry like during the fall. Also the regular worms don't stay on the hook good. I use the fake Fishbites bloodworms.
