I'd go to TW's in Corolla or Corolla Bait and Tackle and find out what's being caught when you get there and what rigs and baits to use. Corolla is a flat shallow beach, usually the narrow wash outs and areas with the old tree stumps on the beach are the best. I'm guessing bluefish and flounder if the water is clear and spot, croaker, sea mullet if the water is muddy. The closest pier is Avalon Pier in Kill Devil Hills.
