Well you exactly right on your choice for trout fishing and its techniques for this time of the year. The Washington Baum Bride and Pond Island areas, which I call Pirates Cove is an excellent place to try to fish and jig for trout. There are so many creeks up in that area and this time of year in early morning and late evening would be excellent places to fish for trout. Also you may try in front of or off of the little Manteo Bridge and jig for trout. If you would like to try a little drum fishing, Drums start biting this time of the year from the surf and or near the breaks. I personally like the Berkely's shrimp that is in the water solution in the translucent and pink colors. Gulf shrimp does work well also. Happy fishing and keep the board up to date with your fishing experience on the Outer Banks and enjoy the gracious beauty of this area of North Carolina. Always remember to "keep a tight line".
