Beach fishing update

Surfed beach 5-6 hours last night and caught 1 tiny sea mullet. In July beach had to be 150 yards deep, surf line is up to beach houses. Some people actually fishing off their back porches. Not sure will be able to successfully fish beach but will evaluate each day. House I rented has Pier passes and went up there this morning. Puppy Drum (of course just short) black Drum (also just short), puffers, big Mullet and a few small spot. Not much of a Pier fisherman (not that I'm much of a fisherman as it is) but figuring it out somewhat.
Absolutely unbelievable day! 80 degrees, light wind, blue skies, no bugs and no humidity.
Sitting in a Hammock on roof of house having a cold adult beverage listening to some music waiting for tide to come back in.
Rented a house called Duck Dog from Midgett Realty right down street from Rodanthe Pier. Don't usually endorse places I stay, but this place is a really nice place 1 row back, easy access, clean and convenient.
It's so nice right now, Capt D's insults don't even matter 😘!
