I work for an oil and gas drilling company that drills in the Gulf Coast waters. The rig that was seen was for offshore drilling, those rigs cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to operate per week. I'm not sure what they would be using something like that for the new bridge, but if they are they'll be over budget shortly.
